PASSED THRU CHARGES

Generation Charge

• Is the composite cost of electricity generated and sold to a distribution utility such as Visayan Electric.

Transmission Charge

• Is the cost of transmitting power from the generation source to the receiving point of a distribution utility.

Systems Loss Charge

• Is the cost of power loss recovery due to technical and non-technical system loss for delivering power to the end users.

DSM CHARGES

Distribution Charge

• Is the cost of developing, constructing, operating and maintaining the distribution system, which delivers power from high-voltage transmission grids to end-users.

Supply Charge

• Is the cost of rendering service to customers such as billing, collection, customer assistance and other associated services.

Metering Charge

• Is the cost of reading, operating and maintaining power metering facilities and other costs attributed to metering service.
   

OTHER CHARGES

Subsidy on Lifeline Charge

• Is the cost of subsidy for the marginalized or low income residential electricity users who consume up to 100 kWh in a month.

Senior Citizen Subsidy Charge

• Is the cost of subsidy for the senior citizens who consume up to 100 kWh in a month, discount is 5%. For institutions discount is 50%.

GOVERNMENT CHARGES

A. Government Taxes

Franchise Tax Local

• This is paid to local government units, in accordance to ERC Regulations; Visayan Electric ranges from 0.5% to 0.75% of gross revenue. Section 137 of RA 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991

Value Added Tax

• This is the tax imposed on the sale of electricity through all stages of generation, transmission, distribution and all other charges. Republic Act No. 9337 – The Expanded Value-Added Tax Act of 2005

B. Universal Charges

Missionary Electrification

• This is to fund the electrification of remote and unviable areas, as well as areas not connected to the transmission system.

NPC Stranded Debts

• This is for  any unpaid financial obligations which have not been liquidated by the proceeds from the sales and privatization of NPC assets.

   

Feed In Tariff Allowance

• This is a tariff imposed on consumers of electric power, to be used by renewable energy developers/producers.
